Farming covers cultivation of cereals, oilseed rape, sugar beet and other crops, production of milk and beef cattle farming. The Group has 6,805 ha of own land. We have six agricultural companies, situated on fertile land across Lithuania – Panevėžys District Aukštadvario ŽŪB and Panevėžys District Žibartonių ŽŪB, Kėdainiai District Labūnavos ŽŪB, Šakiai District Lukšių ŽŪB, Biržai District Medeikių ŽŪB and Sidabravo ŽŪB. Agricultural companies are cultivating 17,232 ha of land, 6,997 ha from them is own land. The total revenue of the farming companies was EUR 27 million in FY 2016/17.
The unfavourable weather conditions during the harvest period in 2016 influenced the 8% decrease to 90 thousand tons in Group’s total agricultural production output during July 2016-June 2017 as compared to previous year. The amount of harvested wheat was the largest one – almost 46 thousand tons, of malting barley – almost 12 thousand and of rapeseed – 9 thousand tons. The average yield of wheat was 6.52 t/ha (on average in Lithuania 4.75 t/ha), malting barley – 5.2 t/ha (average in Lithuania – 3.13 t/ha), rapeseed – 4.04 t/ha (average in Lithuania 2.82 t/ha).
The farming companies of Linas Agro Group are among the largest and the most effective milk producers in Lithuania. They own over 3,240 milking cows in total. Over 29 thousand tons of raw milk has been sold over the period July 2016-June 2017 , or 2% more as compared to previous year. The average milk yield per cow was 9,000 kg, while the average in Lithuania was 5,636 kg. According to 2016, the agricultural company Sidabravo ŽŪB was the fourth most efficient milk producer in Lithuania. Agricultural company Šakiai District Lukšių ŽŪB is for the fourth year ranked as one of the largest milk producers. Agricultural company Panevėžys District Žibartonių ŽŪB is a newcomer to the Top 10 milk producers rating with the 10th place in it.
