In 2006-2007 years we implemented 130 mln. Litas investment project in Klaipeda Free Economic Zone and constructed one of the most modern rapeseed methylesther or RME (the so called biodiesel) production plant that was named as Mestilla UAB. 

Mestilla UAB is not a part of Linas Agro Group AB holding but the controlling interest of the company is held by the shareholders of Linas Agro Group AB and the rest 49 % of shares are owned by Statoil ASA.

The RME production line of the Austrian company BDI, oil seed pressing equipment of the German company Harburg Greudenberger have been installed, and the Danish CIMBRIA rapeseed processing and storage technologies were implemented.

The annual capacity of the modern Metilla plant is approximatelly 110 thousand tons of environmentally friendly fuel - biodiesel. The suppliers of the key raw material for production – rapeseed – are our long-term partners – the Lithuanian farmers. The international company Statoil is responsible for the production sales.

The products produced at Mestilla are sold in the Lithuanian and West European markets.

Mestilla UAB is a member of Biofuel Association and is an active participant in the preparation of the National biofuel technology platform.
